Vodafone UK have decided to bill calls terminated to or on their network based upon where the call originates from, effective June 1st 2021.
Calls to the Vodafone network in the UK will be subject to a surcharge from certain countries outside the UK or if no caller ID has been provided.
Vodafone are the first by charging based upon where the call is from, but have little doubt others will follow.
A likely first and possibly pre-emptive step in that direction is a single per-call surcharge for non-UK CLI which would need to be in the 25p per minute ballpark. This surcharge will apply also when no caller ID is provided.
We should know more towards the end of this month and will publish here.
